Snails and Gilles huddled together underneath Gilles', Snails' mascara visibly running with Gilles' arm wrapped around her. "Do you want to go up and see him?" Gilles asked, but Snails quickly shook her head. She wasn't ready to look at Sen yet. Gilles nodded understandable and looked around. He didn't see Emmy or Stefan yet, but he was only scanning, not looking that hard.

Stefan walked into the church with Emmy next to him. He held Emmy's hand and had his other hand in his pocket. Signs of no sleep showed slightly on his face. The day Sen threw himself in front of the train Stefan couldn't do anything. Eat, sleep, or sit still. While Emmy slept that day, Stefan had wandered town a few times, tried to sleep, and replayed the whole thing in his mind.

Emmy softly laid her head on Stefan's shoulder as they walked to one of the pews and sat down. Her long hair was up in a bun, something that she rarely did with it. She hadn't cried yet the whole day. That was amazing even to her, but it seemed that she had cried all her tears.

Stefan clenched his fist in his pocket. He couldn't do this. Sen couldn't be dead. He was just pretending to be... right? No, he was gone, and he would never come back. Stefan put his face in his hands and sighed. He thought about going back to school, but then he realized he would see Sen's empty desks and how his name would be permanently erased from the attendence sheets.

"Stefan, baby...?" Emmy said quietly and worriedly, looking up at him and touching his face softly. She had been worried about him all morning. He seemed like he had been holding in most of his emotions since Sen died...

"I'm okay." Stefan said, "I'm fine." He sounded like he was trying to convince himself more than anything. "After this, everything will be almost okay." That was a lie, with some truth. Stefan was messed up now. More so than ever, and he knew that. But he decided to go back to school and do what Sen's letter said. 'Live for me', it said, 'Please. Because I couldn't do it myself.'

Emmy squeezed Stefan's hand softly and continued to look around. Snails and Gilles were sitting caddy corner to them. Snails gave a small wave and wiped away another tear going down her face. Emmy didn't know how much more of this sadness she could take...

Thyme walked into the church and looked around for Stefan. He spotted him with Emmy and walked over to them. "Hey," Thyme said softly to them both. Stefan looked up at him with agonized eyes. "No..." Thyme said in a strained voice. He had seen those eyes before when Stefan became depressed when he was fifteen.

Emmy looked at the exchange between the two friends in confusion. She wasn't sure why Thyme was all of the sudden so upset... She had just assumed that Stefan was upset because his best friend had died. She would be like this if Snails died...

"Pull yourself together," Thyme said, leaning down and whispering that to Stefan. "Do it for Emmy's sake." Stefan looked at the ground and gave Thyme a weak smile after a moment. He promised himself he would try. Thyme half smiled at Emmy and then sat two rows behind them.

Emmy half smiled back and watched Thyme as he walked behind them. She looked back at Stefan with concern, but wasn't sure of what she could say to make it any better. She just squeezed his hand again and tried to act strong.

"Don't worry," Stefan said looking up after taking a minute to make sure Emmy couldn't see the agony in his face. "I'm okay." He smiled... well, tried to smile, and failed for the most part. But at least he managed something.

Oh my God, how is killed Emmy to see her love like this. She wrapped her arms around him quickly, as if that was going to keep him from feeling sad. "I'm so sorry, Stefan..." Was all that she could think of saying to him.

Stefan shrugged and sighed. "It's okay." 'It was nobody's fault but mine,' he thought. Sen had been trying to reach out to Stefan and tell him that he needed help, but Stefan ignored Sen's cries. Stefan had no one to blame but himself. He could still feel Sen pushing him away and Stefan's grip loosening on Sen's shirt.

"No... Stefan, baby, we both know it's not okay..." She said back, her arms still tight around him. She didn't want to ever let him go. Ever... "Please, let me help you, Stefan... Stop trying to shrug it off..."
